I wonder if someone can help me? I have been approached by a lady would has a Kune Kune and who would like to make use of my Boar. We have decided that he will go to her, but I'm not sure what the 'rate' for this should be. Is it a monetory figure, or do I ask for a piglet? If it is a value, what is a reasonable amount, and do I only ask her for payment once we know that her gilt is in pig?

To complicate matters, my Boar is currently unproven, although I am hoping that my own gilt will get pregnant soon, although I think I am going to have to split them up before anything will happen (they have been running together since they were 8 weeks old and are now 18 months old)!

odd that they have been running together for that long with no result and probably just as well - a gilt should not be put to the boar until she is at least 12 months old.

what you charge is entirely up to you but , yes you're right in that you wouldn't charge unless you know the gilt is in pig.
